Need a place to vent

Hi girls,

I don't think anyone checks this, but I needed a place to write down my thoughts. I feel so depressed right now. I came home from vacation and I have gained another 5 pounds. This means I am now up 10 pounds from my comfortable weight. This means all my clothes are fitting tight. I feel like I have an extra layer on me and I am just not happy. I feel sluggish. I am frustrated with my running. I am frustrated with my eating. I can't make myself go to bed early. I don't know what my next plan should be.

So, that is it for my whining!! It is time to snap out of it!!! I am seriously considering doing the Making the Cut and maybe running once or twice a week. I think losing weight would help with my running too.

I will report back, if only for myself.

The good news I went shopping yesterday so I have plenty of good food to eat for the next 2 weeks.

Kelly,

I missed you this morning. I did the workout. I modified a couple of the exercises because I am not quite coordinated enough (not to mention I feel a little silly doing some of them all by myself). I am sure I get some funny looks!

Day 2

Okay, remember how I said it would probably get harder? Yeah, day 2 was a lot harder than day 1, but I did it! So far so good...

Day 1 Completed!

So I found a friend who wanted to do this with me, and she is a little more versed in all of the gym equipment, etc. than I am, so we went to the gym this morning at 5:00 a.m. and did workout #1. She was smart and wrote out all of the circuits on a little 3X5 card. It went very smoothly. I had read through the exercises, and she had actually done the workout once at home, so it went very well. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but it was a good workout. I'm sure they will get harder. I am also trying to train for the St. George marathon, so I did a 4-mile easy run from the gym to my house (my friend had picked me up to go to the gym, so this worked out perfectly.) I was home by 6:30. I'm excited. I think this is going to work. Now if I can just get my eating under control, maybe I can get this body into shape!

Week 2- Day 8 Monday

With Wasatch Back this week, I am only going to be doing Monday and Tuesday workouts. This will actually work out well, because it will put me on track to have all Sundays off (as long as I am not too sore next Monday!) I was on my own today. Marnie worked last night. A couple of the exercises I couldn't figure out what she was talking about so I improvised. :-) There were many sets that were "to failure" and I am not sure if I pushed myself hard enough. I did my best. We will see how it goes the second time around. Hopefully someone else will get a chance to look at the workout.

Good luck!

Week 1 Results

Okay, so I thought I would keep track of how my clothes are fitting, weight loss, etc. I am not expecting huge changes, I am just hoping to get into a good lifting routine. But changes would be nice too. :-) Midway through the week I weighed myself and I was down 3 lbs!! It was after a workout so I was pretty sure some of it was sweat loss! Sure enough, my official weight is 2 pounds down- still not too bad! The best part is that I put on a dress yesterday that I don't normally like my arms in and I felt like they looked better. I still wore the sweater over it, but it's a start!!

End of Week 1

I hope you guys aren't tired of me, and I hope someone joins in soon. For now, I need a record of how it's going!! So, day 5 was a great workout. Marnie did it with me and it was tough. I felt stronger though. I was a little nervous for Saturday's run.

Saturday, Marnie, Ted and I ran 8.5 miles. We ran quicker than we usually do and my legs felt tired and sluggish. At about mile 7, I started feeling really sick to my stomach. We stopped for some water and then kept going. It was a tough run overall, but more because of my stomach than my legs!!

Overall, I feel this week went well and I look forward to more workouts.

Day 3-4 Workouts

It's just me again! So, I ran 5 miles on Wed because I am testing shoes, but I felt so tired and sluggish. I know I am getting good workouts! I was worried it wouldn't be enough cardio in this program, but it has surprised me! My heart rate stays above 140 the whole time, which is great. Today's workout went smoother and it was fun having Marnie there.

My eating is going alright. Yesterday I snacked a lot, but it was pretty healthy choices. Today I will do better! I would love to hear how everyone else is doing.

Day 2 Workout

I ran 3 miles again today before the workout and I was tired! It was a very hard workout today, mostly focusing on hamstrings. Lots and lots of lunges!! But it felt great! The scale says I lost 3 pounds but I am sure that will fluctuate. At least it is going the right direction! I am ready for my day off tomorrow, but I will probably run 5-7 miles-slow!!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of you!

Day 1 Workout Complete!

I am so excited for this next 30 days. I ran 3 miles this morning followed by the workout. Sarah did the first 2 circuits with me and then I finished by myself. It was much more fun with Sarah! It was tough, but I was able to do most of it. It wasn't as smooth as I would like so I will try to really understand the exercises the night before. Can't wait to hear how everyone else does.

I'm ready!

I just got my book "Making the Cut" and my dvd "30-day shred". Time to start reading and hopefully figure out how to lose these last 15 lbs.!

Good luck, everyone!

Ready to Go!

Hey Ladies! Are you ready for the next 30 days? I know all of us work hard and are committed to exercise. I am ready to see results for the time I put in. :-) So, I hope we can do this together. Feel free to use this blog as little or as much as you want. I will be using it to track what I eat and the exercise I do so that it keeps me accountable. I would love to meet to do the exercises but we will have to figure that out.

Let's do this!

My Plan:

1. Follow Jillian's weight training plan
2. Follow Body for Life eating
3. No sweets for 30 days (this is the most important for me!)
4. Get to bed by 11pm.

How about the rest of you?
